The GX160 is a horizontal shaft engine and a flagship model in Honda’s GX range with superior reliability, performance and long product life. Often used on water blasters, pumps, generators, construction and commercial lawn care equipment.

OHV - Over Head Valve engine have the valves located in the roof of the cylinder head. This permits smoother fuel intake and a quicker and more complete exhaust. This further results in an increased combustion efficiency and enables a higher compression ratio to be used. A greater power output is achieved whilst avoiding the build-up of carbon.

Commercial grade - Built for work this engine features a cast-iron cylinder sleeve to increase protection against engine wear caused by tough and constant use.

Oil alert - Low oil alert switch protects engine against inadequate oil in sump – the engine will not start.

Air cleaner - Dual element air cleaner for maximum service life and engine protection.

Power and Torque - Larger diameter valves maximise the power output and support performance over the entire speed range.

Ease of service - Easy to access spark plug, filter and large fuel tank opening.

Camshaft design - Honda’s camshaft design offers precise valve timing and optimal valve overlap for best fuel efficiency. This draws on decades of Honda’s engineering expertise finely tuned over time.
